The Foundation Stage is a discrete and very special phase and is concerned with the development of “the whole child”, each area of development closely and often seamlessly intertwined together as children learn and develop following a play based curriculum.
At Cherry Dale Primary School, we are passionate about ensuring our Foundation Stage pupils make a happy and successful start to their school journey. We provide our youngest learners with a welcoming and stimulating environment, where they feel safe, secure and have a sense of belonging. We enable children to feel confident about themselves through the positive relationships they develop with their peers and staff within our inclusive setting. Our curriculum provides first hand experiences and promotes learning through purposeful play, allowing children to become independent, resilient, and curious learners. The teaching of key basic skills alongside a rich diet of quality continuous and enhanced provision prepares children for the next stage of their learning.
