Well-Being

Vision Statement

At Cherry Dale Primary School, we recognise that positive mental health and wellbeing are fundamental to every pupil’s ability to learn, develop and succeed. Our vision is to embed a whole-school culture that promotes emotional resilience, inclusion and respect, ensuring that mental health is supported with the same priority as physical health and academic achievement. We are committed to:

  • Providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where all pupils feel valued and able to reach their potential.
  • Promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma through education, open dialogue and positive role modelling.
  • Equipping pupils with the knowledge and strategies to develop resilience, emotional literacy and self-regulation skills.
  • Ensuring early identification of mental health needs and access to appropriate support within school and through external services where necessary.
  • Working in partnership with parents, carers, staff and external agencies to create a consistent and coordinated approach to supporting wellbeing.

Through this vision, we aim to create a school community where every child is empowered to thrive—academically, socially and emotionally.

If you feel your child needs more direct support:

A referral can be sent to Branching Minds. Mrs Hedley can support with this but they will also accept parent referrals which can be located here.

If you feel you need to know more about what support can be offered, again please contact Mrs Hedley.
